Habitat Tuscaloosa depends on the willingness of volunteers to help further our Misssion.  Below are some ways to be involved with the Tuscaloosa Habitat for Humanity.

Types of Volunteer Opportunities:

1.  Building on the Job Site

Not only does Habitat build simple, decent homes for families in need, but we do it with almost ALL volunteer labor!  Habitat can cut the cost of construction in half by using willing and able community supporters.  Habitat Tuscaloosa offers individuals and groups an opportunity to not only build a home, but to help a fellow neighbor.  

Register yourself or your group into our database.  Once signed in, you can search build dates and all the volunteer opportunities, as well as sign yourself up for a specific day!  Easy and convenient!

2.  ReStore:  "REcycle, REuse, REbuild"!

Habitat Tuscaloosa's ReStore is a vital part of our existence.  Not only does it provide people with an opportunity to shop for building supplies and home decor, priced at a reasonable rate, but it covers all of Habitat's operational costs!  With the growing success of the Tuscaloosa ReStore, we need, more than ever, extra hands to help maintain the stores apperance and help to stock shelves with merchandise, as well as running pick-ups and drop-offs of donated materials or purchased materials!

The ReStore is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm.  Volunteer hours are always available during store hours!  This volunteer opportunity is ideal for students having to earn a certain amount of hours for a class, or for anyone who has a community service obligation to meet.

3.  Fundraising Events:

Once logged into the database as a volunteer, feel free to search for any type of fundraising events that need help!  These events are always fun to be a part of and we ALWAYS need help running them.
